Soft Biometric Data Extraction from Spontaneous Multimodal Affective Face Videos

Abstract: The goal of this project is develop a soft biometric system to support static texture-based face recognition systems under challenging conditions (e.g. low resolution, spoofing attacks etc.) and to make them more reliable. The soft biometric features, which will be extracted from the face will not be restricted to age and gender, but it will also include the person-specific component of the facial dynamics during an affective facial expression or speech. The component of the dynamics of the face, which carry biometric information will be treated like a "signature" of that person and will be fused with the texture based information for face recognition or verification.
